The Council operates an annual grant scheme.
Starting in September, applications are open until 30thNovember and are considered at the January meeting. Cheques authorised at the April meeting and presented at the May APM. (Unless an election year, then the APM will be in April).
It is hoped to completely deal with annual Grant Aid at the January meeting. This is because the public are usually excluded and it is preferable to keep this restriction to a minimum.
Recipients will notified of their award by post after the January meeting and invited to the APM in April to receive the cheque and a certificate. Those not attending will have the cheques posted to them.
It is hoped that this method would encourage attendance at the APM.
Any cheques not presented for payment by 1stMarch will be deemed unwanted and cancelled.
Grants will be made to groups that have shown a need and justification for the grant and the benefit, proportionate to the amount given.
